I took a couple of pictures to show you what my work life looks like right now. As you know, I'm on an island, helping run a sailing program until mid-August, when I start the desk job. Until then, I'm messing about in boats all the time. The first picture is the last boat ride of the day yesterday, coming back in a little whaler from the mooring. It was calm and warm and cloudy and quiet. The second picture is from this afternoon. I was in the race committee boat, heading out to set up the race course on a bright, breezy day.
In each of the last two years, I've spent a substantial portion of 130 days in a motorboat or on a dock. I've spent more time on water than in cars. I sometimes forget that most people don't get to be in boats that much. Today and yesterday, though, I remembered that I am lucky.
