I've been back to the upholstery store a bunch of times now and finally picked a fabric for the rocker. It arrived on Friday. So we haven't finished that project, but the sewing can start. I won't be sewing, that's for sure. But I have every faith that Karen can make this fit the rocker.
The fabric store guy has been in that store for forty years. I guess you can do a fair amount of settling in over forty years. There's more detail in the picture below. I'm partial to the mounted jackelopes, myself.
My sister wouldn't let me paint the chicken coop like a red barn, which I don't think of as a moral failing, but instead think of as an unforced error. I'm making up for it by painting my beehive like a red barn. Livestock want a red barn, and that's the way it is. Really, Ali is painting it, while I weed the front garden you can't see. She keeps asking me if she can add details. Sure can.
The only thing below the fold is a picture of slugs eating a dead worm.
I love the ending!
Your house reminds me of old logger's cottages we stayed in a few times for holidays. I think it's the walls that do it. Brrrrr.... They were very cold at night.

I know! I should watch how many of you click to make that picture big. It is all artistic, with the blue and the seedpods. And the slugs and the dead worm.

I've lost track -- do you actually have bees yet? Or will the bees come when the barn is ready?

Don't have bees yet. I could buy some for this spring. I'm kinda hoping to run across a swarm somewhere instead of paying for bees. I could definitely leave the barn doors open, but I don't know whether bees work on an "if you build it, they will come" model.

How can slugs eat a worm? Aren't they brethren?

Doesn't look like solidarity to me.

Slugs even eat other slugs. They're animals.

"Slugs even eat other slugs. They're animals."
Yup. My college roommate was traumatized when she woke up one morning to find that not only had one of her hamsters died, but the other hamster was eating the deceased's eyes.

I had no idea that slugs ate anything other than... leaves?
