In the movies, when they show the girl singing along in the car or dancing around her room, is that to establish:
A. She is a regular girl like all of us, because everyone dances around at home.
B. She is especially energetic and effervescent.
C. Other _______________________________.
Show your work.
C. Other: A girl singing along in the car is a regular girl like all of us. See, e.g. Silence of the Lambs. A girl dancing around her room establishes that she is especially energetic and effervescent. See, e.g. Terminator.
(My memory is really bad.)

Shoot, I asked two (2) questions in one, didn't I? I just realized I left myself open for the only ever answer to multiple choice questions. It is just a matter of time now.
Ain't nothing but a gangster paaaaarty...

The answer is D, all of the above.

C. It's a sign that she's a powerlifting bureaucrat, footloose and looking for love?

I'm with Brian. Singing in the car makes her fun but not unusual. Dancing around her room makes her unusually bubbly.

C. She is in love.. OR, maybe she's too frustrated that's why she just prefers to sing or dance her heart out.. :P

She's vulnerable, silly. She can be whatever she is on the outside, but on the inside, she's just a girl who sings in her car and dances in her room. She has joy, and it's vulnerable.

B., often in a Manic Pixie Dream Girl kind of way. Not that I don't approve of singing in the car or dancing around rooms in Real Life as done by Real Women, but in movies? B.
